About the project:
AIDS Foundation - Kinetic typography & Mixed-Media Video
For The Elizabeth Taylor AIDS Foundation, our New York studio created a kinetic typography video for the “HIV Is Not a Crime” campaign, leading the creative direction, graphics, illustration, and animation.
Creative Direction
Our New York studio developed the creative direction for the film, shaping a visual language that could bring clarity, urgency, and humanity to a sensitive and important subject. The goal was to support the voiceover and message with a graphic system that felt bold, direct, and emotionally grounded.
We created a visual approach built around animated typography, dynamic compositions, and stylized illustration. Every design choice was made to reinforce the campaign’s core message: to inform, raise awareness, and help shift public perception around the criminalization of HIV.

The Power of Storyboarding: Laying the Foundation for Fluid Animation
Working from the provided script, we developed a detailed storyboard to define the structure, pacing, and visual progression of the film. This stage allowed us to translate the narration into a clear sequence of graphic moments, ensuring that each key idea was easy to understand and visually memorable.
The storyboard became the foundation of the production, mapping the relationship between voiceover, on-screen text, illustration, and motion. It helped create a smooth narrative flow, guiding the viewer from the issue of outdated criminalization laws to the broader call for awareness and change.

Animation & Audio Mix
The animation was produced in our New York studio, with close attention to rhythm, legibility, and visual impact. Kinetic typography, graphic elements, and illustrations were animated to follow the narration by Laverne Cox, giving the film a strong sense of momentum while keeping the message clear and accessible.
We also handled the audio mix, bringing together voiceover, music, and sound elements into a cohesive final piece. The film was completed and polished in studio, ready for the launch of the “HIV Is Not a Crime” campaign.
