About the project:
We partnered with Embryolisse to create an animated motion graphics piece celebrating the brand's remarkable history since the 1950s. We handled the complete production, from script development and styleframes to storyboard, illustration, and final animation. Drawing inspiration from authentic period photographs, we crafted a soft, elegant visual narrative that captures the timeless essence of this iconic French skincare brand and Dr. Tricot's legendary Lait Crème Concentré.
Embryoliss - 2D Animation
Art Direction & Visual Creation
To trace the iconic history of the Embryolisse brand, FEVR handled the complete art direction for this motion design project. Our studio orchestrated every stage of creation, from initial concept to final animation. We developed a visual universe that captures the essence of this iconic French brand: soft, soothing colors and a refined illustration style that reflects the delicacy and purity of Embryolisse products.
This motion design video tells the story of a dermatological innovation born in 1950s Paris, when Dr. Tricot, a passionate dermatologist, conducted extensive research to create a simple, universal, and accessible product capable of treating his patients' skin conditions.

A Collaborative and Methodical Workflow
Our creative approach began with in-depth work on the scenario and voice-over script, developed in close collaboration with the Embryolisse client. This design phase allowed us to understand the brand's core values and the historical significance of its products. FEVR then presented two distinct creative directions through several carefully crafted styleframes.
These graphic proposals allowed us to explore different artistic directions and determine the final color palette and graphic style that would carry the visual identity of this video. Through this iterative and collaborative process, we defined the delicate and timeless aesthetic that characterizes the final film.

From Storyboard to Animation: A Comprehensive Vision
Based on the story to be told, FEVR developed a complete sketched storyboard, the true backbone of the animation. This working document, composed of key images selected at strategic moments throughout the 2D animation, gave us a clear and coherent vision of the whole before launching into production.
Each sequence was designed to streamline the narrative: from the birth of Embryolisse Lait Crème Concentré after Dr. Tricot's numerous trials, to the rapid expansion of products flourishing throughout France and then worldwide. This storyboard served as a reference throughout the animation process, guaranteeing impeccable narrative and visual consistency.

Documentary Research in Service of Authenticity
One of the most enriching aspects of this project was our in-depth historical research. FEVR drew upon authentic period documents, particularly rare photographs from the 1950s, to faithfully recreate the atmosphere of this pivotal era.
Our illustrators meticulously transposed these photographic elements into hand-drawn illustrations, preserving historical authenticity while adding our studio's characteristic artistic touch. This approach created a visual bridge between past and present, giving the video a heritage and emotional dimension that resonates with the Embryolisse brand legacy.

Technical Excellence and 2D Animation
Produced entirely in our motion design studio in Paris, this video mobilized the expertise of our motion design artists who integrated each illustrated element into our 2D animation pipeline. FEVR orchestrated the animation of hundreds of graphic elements, creating fluid transitions and subtle animations that guide viewers through seven decades of dermatological innovation. Our team particularly focused on the harmony between illustration, animation, and voice-over, creating an immersive narrative experience. The final result demonstrates our expertise in visual storytelling and our ability to transform a brand story into an elegant and memorable motion design piece that celebrates the Embryolisse legacy.
